- I agree with those who stated he should have been fired.  Coaches, teachers, parents and others in kids lives need to understand that they are role models - and encouraging them to bash some poor hapless kids into the ground sends the wrong message.

- I would put it less on Ike - at that time everyone was still high from WWII - and they felt like they were doing the right thing...
